DJs / Emcees - Professionals + AVERAGE PRICES - Why are some DJs who call
themselves professionals so cheap?
Quality vs. Price. How much should I realistically expect to pay for a qualified
experienced professional entertainer?
You may be receiving price quotes that range from dirt cheap to slightly higher
than you've budgeted for…
You may be wondering what the average price is for a DJ.
The answer to that question would depend on several factors, the type of event,
the day of the week, how many hours, are other services needed and above all
the experience and ability of the DJ. You also need to ask - "What do I get
for "X" amount of dollars?". What if two DJs give you the same price quote,
but one of them is considerably less qualified and poorly equipped? A qualified,
experienced, professional mobile disc jockey will NOT be priced considerably
lower than average. If someone charges considerably less than average, you need
to ask yourself the following question - WHY? What am I NOT getting? When you
pay less - you GET less...
Please note: PROFESSIONAL DJs - do NOT - price themselves by the hour.
Professional DJs will offer you a (4) hour block of time, with additional hours
of time available - which is referred to as overtime.
DJs offering their services at an hourly rate is a - new - craiglist - low budget
- trend. It's a quick way to spot a low budget, bottom of the barrel operation.
Select your entertainment wisely.
Select your entertainment wisely.
Select your entertainment wisely.
No, you did not hear an echo...
You're spending hundreds of dollars, perhaps thousands of dollars on your big
event.
Why would you risk your investment on such an important day with the least expensive
DJ you can find?
Entertainers price themselves based upon their abilities.
They know what they're worth. If they are pricing themselves considerably lower
than average, they are telling you something...
An experienced professional who can deliver an amazing performance is NOT always
easy to find. THAT person, should you be lucky enough to hire them for your
event - will NOT be priced so low that everyone can afford him. He WILL be priced
near average or above.
If you do decide to hire the cheap DJ, after he has set-up his gear and starts
playing - you may realize you've made a huge mistake… but by then… once the
ship begins to sink… it's too late...
A CHEAP DJ is like a cheap pair of shoes.
They look good from a distance - but after you look closer - you realize that
they are not high quality. They cost almost nothing because they're made of
plastic and cardboard and they will make your feet hurt. Because plastic doesn't
breathe, they begin to smell bad almost immediately. After wearing them once
they begin to fall apart and you wish you could return them - but you've already
worn them... If you hire a cheap DJ, before the night is over - you WILL be
kicking yourself in the rear with your cheap plastic shoes - wishing you hadn't
hired him.... Your guests will laugh and talk badly about you and your horrible
party - all the way home from your event wondering what the heck you were thinking
when you hired El DJ Cheapo....
"You Get What You Pay For".
"You Get What You Pay For".
"You Get What You Pay For".
Think three times before you hire a cheap DJ.
Cheap entertainment = Regret at the end of the night and bad memories that
can't be erased.
*** How do I know this? ***
Long before becoming a DJ, my fiancé and I were uninformed and totally clueless
on what to look for in a DJ for our wedding reception.
For my very OWN wedding reception, I made the mistake of hiring an inexpensive
DJ...
What a disaster. Our wedding day was NOT all it could have been because our
entertainment was substandard - to say the least. Our reception was a flop!
If we had been more informed and had known what to look for and what to avoid
we could have hired a true professional who would have made our reception what
it should have been. I can't go back and do it over. I regret hiring our inexperienced,
inexpensive, unqualified DJ. My memories of our wedding day are tarnished when
I think back at our reception... it was a complete mess...
I don't want that to happen to you.
Spending a little extra on a truly PROFESSIONAL - EXPERIENCED - ENTERTAINER
for your event - is MONEY WELL SPENT.
If you're looking to hire a DJ for an event, you may not know the going rate
for REAL entertainment.
The charts below should be helpful to you.
YES… These are actual - REAL WORLD prices.
If you are getting price quotes that are substantially lower than average...
there IS a reason...
